Michael Richmond has been a practicing attorney for thirty years.  During that time he has engaged in numerous areas of law and has developed a recognized expertise in several areas.

Having lived in Central New Jersey since 1957, he has deep roots to the area.  In touch with the community through involvement in professional, civic and political activities.  Mr. Richmond's parents lived in Central Jersey until their passing.  Helping to raise four step-children and a daughter and now has three grandsons, Mr. Richmond has personal experience in life events.

As a Municipal Prosecutor for more than 23 years and having represented hundreds of defendants in Municipal Court as a private counsel and Public Defender, Mr. Richmond is one of the foremost practitioners of Municipal Court practice.  The reputation has been enhanced with the publication of the book Municipal Court Handbook by Gann Law Books.  Partner Keith Burns is co-author.

Mr. Richmond has practiced bankruptcy law since 1976 having practiced with a practitioner who served as a Chapter 11 Trustee.  He recently became certified to do electronic filings with the Bankruptcy Court.  Not all clients with credit problems should file bankruptcy.  He will investigate and advise as to all the options.

Elder Law is the description used to describe several areas of law which are becoming ever more important as our society ages.  Baby boomers are increasingly finding themselves as the sandwich generation.  Parents are in need of assistance with governmental program entitlements, decisions with regard to health care, financial decisions and assistance with decision making.  The Boomers themselves need to review wills, where children have matured.  Planning for their own retirement and latter years is important.  Providing for children and grandchildren are now needed.  All of the skills that compromise Elder Law have been the long time experience of Michael Richmond.  He is now certifying those skills through the new certification programs.

With partner, Keith Burns, Michael Richmond is a participant in the American Association of Retired Persons Legal Services Network.
